Looking for a home or condo near Vanderbilt? - This is one of the most difficult areas in Nashville to find affordable homes. Not only do you have doctors, professors, and students at Vanderbilt University and Medical center who want to live close, but it's also in downtown Nashville where a lot of business executives would like to live. Most of the homes in the Vanderbilt area are at least 50 years old, and had some type of renovation, some good, and some not so good, So make sure have a good inspector, and if you decide to buy an older home that needs a little work, do be surprised if a little work turns out to be a much bigger project than you expected. One alternative to an older home is a new condo. Several buildings have been constructed in the last several years, and they eliminate the worry of maintenance. Of course you do pay an association fee that ends up being just as expensive most of the time.
